Circa - Beyond archiveOne of the world's great contemporary circus companies. Internationally acclaimed ensemble Circa invite you to step Beyond, into a mysterious world where bestial comedy meets irreverent vaudeville. Beyond crosses the line between human and animal, between madness and sanity, between logic and dream. From the company behind last year's smash-hit Wunderkammer (winner of a 2013 Herald Angel) comes Beyond. Stunningly uncanny performances, world class circus acts, blindfolds, Rubik's Cubes and rabbit heads come together with a backdrop of show tunes, electronica and rock ballads. Beyond conjures up a sublimely beautiful and curiously tender surreal realm where Alice in Wonderland meets Charles Darwin. Set on multiple stages within stages, small red-curtained worlds offer a glimpse into a dreamy and hallucinogenic place. Beyond is a cabaret, a zoo, an asylum and a stage where seven artists gather to express their inner-selves and connect with each other and the audience. Over the course of Beyond we marvel at their skills and enter their personalities. Beyond blurs the line between man and beast. Circa knows how to combine captivating skill sets with fast-paced madness and comedy in a way that leaves their audiences gasping for more. With productions that have toured to 27 countries across six continents since 2006, Circa's work is a stripped back circus of the heart. It finds new emotional landscapes inside what is generally considered to be a spectacle. What happens down Circa's rabbit hole and ?beyond' reminds us of the power of the human body and quite how exciting circus can be.
