User Reviews

Financial Times (11Jan01): The ballet will have rewards for its public; it is accessible, the dance is always well-made. But you will have to turn back to Dickens if you have greater expectations.
The Sunday Times (11Jan01): True to form the NBT dancers give their all, as if this were a better ballet than it is.
The Times (11Jan01): Great Expectations is true to the tradition forged by the company s late founder, [Christopher Gable]. Compressing Dicken s complicated storyline into two 45-minute acts produces some fairly manic tonal and scenic changes, especially in the first half. But fuzzy-edged as the storytelling is, [Stefano Giannetti] still hits the salient dramatic point.
