The National's summer festival of free outdoor entertainment, featuring the best of British street theatre, bands from across the globe, breathtaking circus, late-night cinema, new work, installations, dance, cabaret, club nights and magnificent spectacle. Alongside Transformation runs Watch This Space, one of the most dynamic outdoor festivals in the UK. Everything is free, six days a week for ten weeks. Work inspired by Transformation includes a celebration of mask theatre and Commedia Dell’Arte, a circus season to complement The Birds, and a dance showcase to mark the opening of Matthew Bourne’s Play Without Words.
