CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 but restrictions were lifted on 19th July 2021 with venues free to run shows to full capacity audiences after that though there are still issues with company members being forced to self-isolate on being 'pinged'. In September it is possible that a COVID vaccination certificate (or exemption) may be mandated for entry. Please note that iUKTDb archive listings between March 2020 and July 2021 may not be accurate as we did not receive details of all rescheduled and cancelled shows.
Three lads and two teddies unexpectedly find themselves at the crossroads of sexual identity. Coined as Neilson's first offering to the 'in yer face' theatre movement of the 1990s, Penetrator still remains as disturbingly watchable and as socially relevant as it was on its 1994 London debut at the Royal Court. This electrically charged production walks you right along the knife edge as it unfurls the exuberance and follies of a generation brought up on fast food, manufactured pop-music and high-speed-broadband. Max and Alan are living out a typical night in their shabby basement flat when long term school pal Tadge, having been away in the army, arrives out of the blue with some news. In this production, the play has been updated from its Gulf War setting to a post-9/11 context.Performers Simon Lenagan, Simon Lloyd, Andrew Pleavin.
