When events on the UKTW database are over they do not disappear but are moved to the iUKTDb (Internet UK Theatre Database) archive that we also run. Over the years, since we started in 1995, that archive has been growing steadily and on checking today we spotted that it had zoomed past 1 million events! To be precise, this morning it stood at: 121,037 works in 190,625 productions involving 195,603 people/companies giving 1,007,234 events in 3,300 venues.
Given that an "event" in our database can be something like "The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre" we simply can't calculate how many performances that would equate to!
Details of the iUKTDb can be found on our website. The database is searchable by place, person and work and is an huge resource for those interested in theatre and live performance.
