Older than eBay and Google we actually started listing London and Oxford theatre on-line using gopher and web services in 1994 (same as Amazon) but launched officially with a Lloyds Bank loan on Valentine's Day 1995. Check out our various "stunning" looks on the WayBackMachine. Since then, with some help, we have provided listings, news and information about theatre across the UK. We built the first multi-supplier ticket information system, early box offices for various important theatres, affiliate systems for a major ticket agent, ticket price comparison services, an Android app, Wordpress plug-in, SeatChoice, ScriptCircle, ArtsArchive and various otehr sites.
Our archive currently contains 111,431 works in 170,101 productions involving 178,467 people/companies giving 922,203 events in 3,217 venues - all entered by us, a labour of love and a job for life! We have been through many servers, databases and websites over the years but always concentrating on "what's on, where, with whom" ... our clients have included Whatsonstage, the BBC, New York Times (digital), London Dance and more.
It has been one hell of a ride and we hope we have provided help, information and assistance to those wanting to attend or research theatre in the UK ...
Meanwhile we act, write, direct and tech with a range of groups ... theatre, it would seem, is our life!
