Before Sex and The City, there was Women of Manhattan. Rhonda, Judy and Billie are lamenting the fact that while their careers are flourishing, their personal lives are a wreck. But then, in a series of sharply written, subtly revealing scenes, their situations change. Women of Manhattan touches on the universal themes of love, loss and getting laid. Brutally honest, the play reveals that behind the gloss and high heels, the big city disappoints just as quickly as it rewards.
