Among the greatest living pianists. One of today’s most distinguished artists, Mitsuko Uchida presents a programme from the very heart of the piano repertoire. Celebrated for her interpretations of the Viennese classics, she features Beethoven’s two-movement Sonata Op.90, an intense piece that traces a path from conflict to tranquillity. She continues with Schumann’s whimsical cycle Davidsbündlertänze which shows the composer at his most effervescent and poetic. The second half is devoted to Chopin.
