John's Journals - T1879276571

Here be not notes from the hurrying Hegley. A blurred plectrum of fast songs. A shifting dune of sandy tales and caravan verses from Luton and Thailand. Nice and Greece. With plenty of things for the audience to do, including laugh. Catch the camel and straddle the saddle.

Hegley In Hammersmith - T1212094306

'By the time I get to do these shows, I'll (hopefully) have done a twenty-odd date tour (after my Edinburgh Festival stint) during which time I'll be tightening things up and trying things out and attempting to write sentences with less use of brackets. The show I bring to the Lyric will be informed by the tour. I may encourage you to draw a dog, like I did last year, or a facecloth, like I didn't. There will be bits about my travels and my boyhood, e.g. once I asked my mum if she would shelter me if I killed someone. She said that she would, but wouldn't be very pleased about it. And there will be stories about bamboo. I may bring a friend and so may you.Performer John Hegley.
