Production details
The English Chamber Orchestra is one of the world's leading chamber orchestras, having performed in more countries than any other orchestra, recorded over 1,200 works and played with the world's greatest musicians. Led by the acclaimed young British conductor and cellist Paul Watkins, ECO presents an evening of what can best be described as beautiful music. The first symphony Beethoven wrote and excerpts from his familiar Prometheus Overture and Ballet Music form a sandwich with Butterworth's quintessentially English Bank's of Green Willow and Tchaikovsky's delightful cello work Rococo Variations as the rich filling. Last season the acclaimed young British conductor and cellist Paul Watkins was appointed Music Director and Principal Conductor of the ECO, after two years as its Associate Conductor.
