Returning once more to Cadogan Hall, the London Gay Symphony Orchestra performs a night of classic movie themes including the World Premiere of Simon Proctor’s ‘James Bond Piano Concerto’. This night at the movies includes themes from West Side Story, Pirates of the Caribbean, Raiders of the Lost and Rhapsody in Blue. American pianist Thomas Pandolfi joins the orchestra as soloist in both Rhapsody in Blue and the James Bond Piano Concerto. These much loved works show off the lighter side of the orchestra’s repertoire and will take the audience on a journey through some of the better known musical themes from the biggest movie blockbusters.

The London Gay Symphony Orchestra (LGSO) continues its successful 2008/09 concert series performing Tchaikovsky, Wagner and Poulenc on Sunday 26 April 2009. This has been a particularly exciting season for the LGSO. The orchestra joined forces with the Rainbow Symphony Orchestra of France at the end of last year for joint concerts in London and Paris . It is also currently preparing for its Royal Festival Hall debut on 02 May 2009, having been invited to perform the European premiere of Sing for the Cure, a symphonic song cycle chronicling stories of beast cancer survivors, as part of the Various Voices festival. The LGSO will start its spring concert playing Wagner’s Overture to Die Meistersinger, and then the less well known Les Biches suite by Poulenc. The LGSO will round the evening off breathing new life into Tchaikovsky’s ever popular Symphony no.5.
