Shlomo is reuniting his pioneering beatboxing choir for a special homecoming show. The Vocal Orchestra were formed in 2007 at Southbank Centre by the award-winning British beatboxer and Southbank Centre Artist in Residence. They went on to headline the World Beatbox Convention at Southbank Centre's Purcell Room, performing their debut show to a sold-out crowd. Since then, Shlomo & the Vocal Orchestra have performed at festivals including Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Latitude and WOMAD and collaborated with Jarvis Cocker, Imogen Heap, Martha Wainwright and DJ Yoda. This evening's performance reunites Shlomo with some of the UK's top vocal talent, including Alyusha, Billy Boothroyd, Ross Green, Harriet Syndercombe Court, Claudia Georgette and Testament. Expect vocal pyrotechnics, explosive improvisations and soulful renditions of favourite songs old and new.

This group of Buddhist monks is actively involved in researching the ceremonies, rituals, and shomyo (Buddhist sutra chanting) of the Jodo sect of Buddhism at Chionin Temple, the sect's headquarters. The voices of the members of Shichiseikai resonate in beautiful unison to create a rich variety of harmonic overtones. While on the one hand carrying on the tradition of shomyo, the group has also succeeded in creating a new form of music through the application of shomyo's unique notions of the male voice and chorus accompanied by bansurai musician Nakagawa Hiroshi.
