Beginning when he was 15 Grossman studied with acoustic blues and gospel singer/ guitarist the Rev Gary Davis for almost eight years, absorbing all he could. He also leant with Mississipi John Hurt, Son House and Skip James and was influenced by artists such as Sam McGee and Charley Patton.

Stefan’s name has become synonymous with most aspects of the acoustic guitar experience. He’s a performer in varied styles who has always been passionately engaged in teaching. He has carved a reputation in the European blues and folk festival circuit playing with British raised acoustic guitarists like John Renbourn and John Fahey
