Stefan Grossman archiveBeginning when he was 15 Grossman studied with acoustic blues and gospel singer/ guitarist the Rev Gary Davis for almost eight years, absorbing all he could. He also leant with Mississipi John Hurt, Son House and Skip James and was influenced by artists such as Sam McGee and Charley Patton.

Born in Brooklyn, Stefan was a student of legendary blues and gospel singer and guitarist Reverend Gary Davis before playing blues and ragtime to audiences during the ‘60s UK folk and blues revival. Stefan has influenced guitarists throughout Europe with his style, later founding the influential Kicking Mule Records and is well known for over thirty years of guitar tuition.
