Currency is a new programme that presents some of the most exciting and creative new works from Europe and the rest of world in a friendly and interactive format to encourage discussion and engagement with artists that challenge their audience to think in new ways. In Mor Shani's Flatland, an actor and three dancers tell the touching story of a neurologist who unexpectedly became his own research object when he found he was no longer the choreographer of his own life. Mor Shani is a freelance choreographer based in the Netherlands. He started his career in 2005 with the Bat-Dor Dance Company in Tel-Aviv, dancing and teaching with them for two years. He began collaborating with Dansateliers Rotterdam in 2009 and continues to work there as a guest choreographer. Technical expertise is blended with contemporary choreography in Italian artist Alessandro Sciarroni's solo Joseph, which includes edgy live online interaction via the randomising social network ChatRoulette. Alessandro Sciarroni is an Italian performer, actor and choreographer who creates crossovers between performance art, theatre, and visual arts. In 2011, he was selected for Choreoroam, developing a research project at The Place, in Zagreb, Copenhagen, Rotterdam, Bassano del Grappa and Madrid. Your ticket for this event includes the performances, dinner, and a pre-show sharing and discussion with Moreno Solinas, Igor Urzelai and Chiara Frigo.
