Fabulous Beast exploded onto the Irish arts scene in 1997. The company is led by Michael Keegan-Dolan, one of Ireland's most talented, challenging and innovative contemporary artists. A Romeo and Juliet for our time, this version depicts a suburban nightmare as feuding families come to blows over the flowerbed that separates their domains. These horrors make the Montagues and Capulets look like beacons of respectability and compatibility as love, sex, drugs and gardening are battled over by the neighbours from hell. In Keegan Dolan’s characteristic style the physically daring confrontations clash with moments of tenderness and lyricism in what is a fiercely imaginative retelling of the famous tragedy.
