The Quiet Dance
Choreographer Jonathan Burrows and composer Matteo Fargion have an international reputation for the intelligence, humour and musicality of their work. Their last piece,
Both Sitting Duet, was one of the hits of Dance Umbrella 2003 and last year’s ROH2 programme. Burrows, a former soloist with The Royal Ballet, was given an award in 2002 by the Foundation for Contemporary Arts in New York in recognition of his ongoing contribution to contemporary dance. Fargion has been his close collaborator for over fifteen years. At the heart of their work is a love of rhythmic form and the quiet intensity of communication. The Quiet Dance is just what it says it is. A love of rhythmic form and the quiet intensity of communication between the performers and audience are explored by these acclaimed collaborators.
