New Art Club was formed in 2001 by Tom Roden and Pete Shenton and is fuelled by their shared spirit of adventure. Loved by audiences and critics alike, they create work which is a unique and beautifully engineered blend of physical and verbal lunacy.Since winning the Edinburgh Spotlight Best Comedy Award for Big Bag of Boom in 2010 they have had an unbroken two years of success garnering praise from critics and audiences alike in the UK and abroad. This specially commissioned version of the hugely popular work creates a world where the familiar laws of physics are unreliable, where things and people appear, disappear and re-appear somewhere else. With some dancing, some talking, simple gags, subtle surprises and lots of participation, New Art Club, along with a group of local dancers of all ages from The Place's professional and non-professional classes, explodes the myths hidden behind the theatrical curtain.
