L'eveil/Gran Partita/Swansong/Anatomica #3

L'eveil is an abstract piece for six women, loosely inspired by aspects of femininity and influenced by the power of the female voice through song. Featuring live singer Melanie Marshall, it is perfomed to Kurt Weill's Je ne t'aime pas and Leslie Bricusse's Feeling Good, with costumes inspired by world-renowned fashion designer [Roland Mouret}. Gran Partita is set to four movements from Mozart's exceptional piece of the same name. Capturing the verve and beauty of the music in movement, this emotional and dramatic piece complements Mozart's heart-melting sound. The celebrated designer Jean Marc Puissant's fresh scenery and costumes create a dreamy poetic world. Swansong Revival Premiere - an intensely potent depiction of interrogation that is dramatic and sinister, but ultimately uplifting. Anatomica #3 by Canadian-born choreographer Andre Gingras. Andre has been working in Holland since 1999 and is described as one of the country's most innovative and daring young choreographers, having developed a highly physical and visual personal language. His first work for Rambert has been inspired by the concept of the body as an exhibition site - looking at how the human form is perceived in the public eye, from both positive and negative viewpoints. With a striking set and costume design by ex-Rambert dancer Fabrice Serafino and original live music by young British composer Joseph Hyde, this new work is a vigorous, and edgy addition to Rambert's repertoire.
