JHAM! is a fresh, youthful, contemporary dance and music work built on a firm classical ground. The performance brings together the rhythmic, vocally percussive South Indian solkattu or syllabic recitation which is often an accompaniment to dance as well as a vocal style in its own right, with the immediately familiar modern style of beatboxing, most often associated with hip-hop dance and music.
