The year 2000 sees the ninth Almeida Opera festival, a season of contemporary opera and music theatre. This year's Almeida Opera festival presents the world premiere of Param Vir's
Ion, directed by Steven Pimlott, with libretto by David Lan after Euripides, and Per Norgard's
Nuit des Hommes, with libretto by Jacob Schocking,
Ion, the third Almeida/Aldeburgh Opera production will have its first performance at Aldeburgh on 9 June.
