First performed in Chicago in 2006 the play received, among other awards, a Joseph Jefferson Citation for 'Outstanding New Work' in the 2006-2007 theatre season. The play, based in 1942, concerns a secret military commission set up by President Roosevelt to try eight German saboteurs who landed by u-boat on Long Island. Inspired by actual events, the play examines the uneasy balance between civil rights and security.
