It's our third year of curating our own new writing programme and this time we're daring to share 3 shows from 6 of our writers. You'll see mini plays, extracts, monologues, things that might become TV pilots or full length plays - we don't know yet - and this year, we seem to have incidentally curated a night of noir-ish comedy/drama. Our diverse actors/directors have worked on screen for BBC, C4 or online platforms and in theatres including The Globe, The National, The Birmingham Rep and the Old Red Lion Theatre. Short(s)Wave is a group of friends from the 2014 Royal Court Writing Programme: Joyce Greenaway, Lucy Foster, Tom Jensen, Shari Smith, Polly Churchill, Nick Bruckman, Regina Moriarty, Ryan Watson, Amita Parikh, Josh Azouz, Simeon Wallis and Freddy Cass. Some are BAFTA Award Winners/Nominees or had a festival of their plays performed in New York or write for CBBC/BBC/C4 or assistant directed at The Royal Court or have been longlisted for competitions like C4 Coming Up/The Papatango New Writing Prize - the list grows annually.
