A terminally ill man wakes at night in his hospital room to find that the neighbouring bed has been taken by a suicidal young woman fresh from having her stomach pumped. The bizarre rapport between the two gradually evolves into what can only be described as a darkly humorous 'Hepburn and Tracy-esque' relationship to which there can only be one possible outcome.
