Archer on trial - nothing new there then

Providing a political balance to Ben Elton s current high profile, Jeffrey Archer has written himself a part in another courtroom drama. Other equity members may argue with the author s acting credentials, but, with the exception of one or two soap stars, none can boast more experience in the dock. In this production - perhaps Mr Archer needs some practice for future judicial occasions - the audience will play the rôle of jury and decide how the trial and the play ends. The Accused opens at the Haymarket Theatre on 5 December 2000, with previews from 30 November after the close of The Blue Room, transferring for a short season from Chichester Festival.
