What the Butler Saw
Wed, 29th Feb 12Joe Orton's farce in the West End
Omid Djalili, having just finished his Tour of Duty, is to star in a revival of Joe Orton's What the Butler Saw at the Vaudeville Theatre. Joe Orton's last play, written in 1967 and first performed in 1969 is being directed by Sean Foley, masterof the recent Ladykillers adaptation.
"When psychoanalyst Dr Prentice instructs his new secretary to undress, little does he expect to be interrupted by his wife, her blackmailing lover, a meddling government inspector and an inquisitive policeman" - yes, you guessed it, this is a farce in the good old British style, but a clever and witty one that is sure to prove extremely popular.
