28th Feb 24 :: Review: And Then There Were None

I felt it was generally well done on a limited stage. Some actors were not projecting their voices sufficiently and were overacting. They may have been the understudy, so I was disappointed as I expected to see the published actors on the first night.

23rd Feb 24 :: Review: Shen Yun
Dire American propaganda Nothing Chinese about the performance
21st Feb 24 :: Review: Nabil Abdulrashid - The Purple Pill

The whole act could have easily been halved by removing the unneeded and unfunny, the better half would have been 30 minutes well spent, unfortunately there was 30 minutes of b Overdramatising, artificial crying and transferred anger, it was more life drama than comedy Heavily weighted against the whiteman he certainly didn't read the audience that paid good money to see him show some of the talent that was on display on BGT A half baked dramatic half comedy exploiting racism that would dhug down a TV station should it have been vice-versa is not something I nor any person seeking a good comedy evening should wish to endure 2 out of 10 for effort and some comedy factor A tad disgraceful truth be said More effort required Nabil

A must see play about the struggles of actresses in the past, continuing into the present day. The actors passion shines through in this dark, moving and play with an underlying humour throughout. Highly recommend.

18th Feb 24 :: Review: David Suchet - Poirot and More, a Retrospective

I went to see the show yesterday at the palace theatre Westcliff , I had a great seat two rows from the stage , an aisle seat which was perfect as it felt very personal and David was very engaging , talking to the audience and making everyone feel included. He told a fascinating story of his life and career and towards the end intricately morphed into his poirot character in front of our eyes explaining how he achieved the voice , mannerisms and little quirks that endear us all to that iconic little man. Geoffrey Wansell o stage with him as his introducer and interviewer was a bonus as I am also a fan of his . David told amusing , emotive and sometimes sad stories of his life and career and I can honestly say that it was the best theatre experience I have ever had in my 55 years and Ive seen a LOT of theatre . I did not think I could like Sir David anymore than I did , how wrong I was .

5th Feb 24 :: Review: The Hills of California
An amazing piece of writing, beautifully staged and performed. This is a super bit of theatre and the 3 hours whizzed by so fast. I really bought in to these characters and their stories. Marvelous ...
4th Feb 24 :: Review: House and Garden
Gave this one star because it wasn’t raining in the theatre. Watched the first half of “The House” then left at the interval… Not funny, dated and on the whole painful to sit through.
30th Jan 24 :: Review: As SHE Likes It

Absolutely wonderful play about women's lack of a voice, and so much more. It began in the 1920's and is still an issue. This is a must-see and hopefully will begin dialogue so that it becomes an issue of the past, not one that carries on for another hundred years....

30th Jan 24 :: Review: Do I Love You?

Fabulous play, actors were excellent and really drew you I to their lives, and experience their sadness, despair, joy, fun. I saw the play at Wakefield Theatre. I cannot praise it enough.

10th Jan 24 :: Review: La traviata

Very enjoyable production; good performances all round but ensemble singing was first class.

visually stunning but not much panto. Brendan Cole phoned it in, even the dances.

A really thought provoking play. Great acting creating characters you could really believe in . I’d definitely recommend this play
13th Dec 23 :: Review: Peter Pan
Unnecessarily crude. Glad my grandchildren weren't with me. Walked out after half an hour
5th Dec 23 :: Review: A Christmas Carol
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS ENOUGH! The way this rendition of the classic Christmas tale is put together is truly beautiful, capturing the contrast of the cold bahumbug to the overwhelming warmth of its joyful resolution. The performences, pacing, creative use of space, colour, light, darkness, pacing & music is totally on point, & is a beautiful presentation of the Dickens classic. I saw this in 2022 & plan to see it again in 2023, as it thoroughly got me in the Christmas spirit! Miss it at your peril!
4th Dec 23 :: Review: Santa Rocks
A fun, fabulous, interactive and well cast Pantomime. Full of talent and energy which was delivered brilliantly with excellent singing. The storyline was everything you’d hope for from a Pantomime right through to the finale with giggles and laughter heard from children and adults throughout with plenty up on their feet joining in with the dancing too ! No negatives at all ,this fab trio delivered genuine family fun professionally and are well worth a visit The young female Elf is one to watch for the future . Would highly recommend getting yourself down there to see and hear for yourself . I will be going again !
