User Links

The UKTW website has been collecting links submitted by users since 1995, however, wit hthe advent of GDPR in May 2018 it was necessary to "clean up" the datbase. An email was sent out to all the email addresses registered as having submitted a link asking if they wanted us to keep it - we were only able to keep those who gave us explicit permission so most of the links were deleted (peoppel's emails had not remained the same over the 23 years!). Whilst this was a shame it was necessary to comply with the new legislation. All links added after 1st May 2018 are compliant with the new legislation.

Mike Lloyd
Person: Mike Lloyd has been promoting shows at the Victoria Hall in Hanley since 1970. During this period he has developed the concert promotions company and also opened four record shops across the West Midlands from Wolverhampton to Stoke. Each shop housed a designated box office with the ability to sell not only tickets for shows in Hanley but also act as agents for major indoor and outdoor shows accross the UK. In 1997 the Victoria Hall was closed for a major refit and as this meant that the company would not be able to promote in the city for at least two years, Mike decided to buy the closed Theatre Royal. After a £1.2 million refurbishment the venue re opened in December on 1997 with a show by Cast. (This show was the first in the venues history to play with seats out in the stalls, something that the company felt was important to the Royals future as this gave the venue the ability to put on a week run with a play and follow straight up with a Rock or Pop show. Mike is also the acting chairman of Walsall Football Club.
