A young man takes his little brother on the run before he is taken into care by the authorities. It is written in verse which gives it flow but can distract – what will rhyme with... ah, there it is - “horses”. I was also sceptical that a youth apparently such a failure would be so eloquent. They have problems with sound bleeding in from the show next door, which I presume is why the start time has moved to 1245. Not a problem for my schedule as it still finished by 1330. The subtlety of their own sound is compromised however as the audience try to hear what was intended without what comes from the other show.
The performer is engaging throughout, making good use of the space and giving a simple yet convincing portrayal of the little brother. We learn a great deal about this man's love for his small family and their struggle for independence, with a nicely enigmatic conclusion to the show.
